The Minnesota Wild set an NHL record by scoring two goals three seconds apart during a 4 - 2 triumph over the Chicago Blackhawks at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The previous record is five seconds, shared by four teams. With 15.5 seconds remaining, C Jim Dowd puts in a long rebound of his own slapshot to break a 2 - 2 deadlock. Three seconds later, RW Richard Park takes the puck off the faceoff and flicks it into the empty net. The defeat is part of a 19-game franchise record winless streak for the Blackhawks away from home, in which the club dropped 18 in regulation and one in overtime.

This Day in Sports History - 12/5/2004

Donovan McNabb throws five touchdown passes in the first half, four of them in the second quarter, to lead the Eagles to a 47 - 17 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Philadelphia. McNabb hits Michael Westbrook for scores of 9, 41 and 12 yards. Terrell Owens takes in a toss of 41 yards and L.J. Smith one from six yards out. The five scores give the Eagles a 35 - 0 lead. McNabb also completes his first 14 passes. Combined with completions on his last 10 attempts against the Giants the previous week, McNabb sets an NFL record for most consecutive passes completed with 24. The Eagles score 12 points in the second half on four David Akers field goals. McNabb finishes the day with 32 completions in 43 attempts for 464 yards.

Phoenix Coyotes goalie Brian Boucher breaks a 55-year-old NHL record when he stifles the Minnesota Wild, 2 - 0, for his fifth-straight shutout. He also sets a modern league record for consecutive scoreless minutes by a goaltender with 332 minutes and 1 second. His shutout streak will end when the Atlanta Thrashers tie the Coyotes 1 - 1, on January 11.
